Hi,
My problem is that Microsoft Exchange is not present in the backup selections list
I'm using:
Microsoft Exchange 2007
Windows server 2008 SBS

You did not mention, if you
You did not mention, if you have the SBS edition of Backup Exec or it is standard Edition. If this is standard edition of BE, you would also require Exchange Agent license, to backup Exchange 2007. Here's a best practices document on Exchange Agent:

Also, some additional documents:

I hope exchange is installed
I hope exchange is installed on same server and "system attendant" service of Exchange is started? If on remote sever, you may need the MAPI/CDO tools and Managemt tools to be installed on BE server as per the document. Can you post a screenshot of the selections please? Also, if it was working before, rebooting a server might help.
Thanks
Hi abcde, Have you pushed the
Hi abcde,
Have you pushed the Remote Agent out to your Exchange server...? If not, do that. A license enables Backup Exec to see a particular application, but not to access it until the RAWS has been pushed out/manually installed.
If you find this is a solution, please mark it as such.

Hi abcde,
I have seen something like this before.
I would now suggest that you remove the Exchange license from Backup Exec, and restart your services. Once done, re-add the license into Exchange and see if you are able to select it again. Don't forget to restart your services.
Cheers,
Craig

Hotfix!!!
I am currently investigating two support cases where the exchange ressources are not showing up in the selection list.
I was able to identify, that a hotfix after service pack 2 on the remote agent is causing this issue.
In your case the hotfix is automatically applied by downloading it on to the BE server. (SBS edition)
Right now I am trying to identify the exact hotfix, which is causing this problem in my test environment.
I would recommend, that you uninstall all hotfixes after SP2 through add/remove programs and test the backup/selection again.
I will inform in this thread if i was able to find out which hotfix is causing the issue.

service pack 3
My investigation showed, that the problem seems to be caused by a special hotfix combination.
On a system where all hotfixes from http://www.symantec.com/business/support/downloads.jsp?pid=15047 are installed, the error does not occur.
So the problem likely is caused by a missing hotfix, which has not been published through liveupdate or which has not been installed, because a newer one has been directly installed.
Nevertheless the problem should be able to be solved by updating the Backup Exec server to Service Pack 3, uninstalling the RAWS from the exchange and install it again from the original source with no service packs or hotfixes and then updating it only with SP3.
