    Hi,

I'm new here so apologies if this is the wrong place to ask this but...

I have Windows 8 machine (Pro, 64-bit) which I was going to connect into our corporate network and so on which I (mistakenly) installed Endpoint Protection v12.1 (the version not compatible with Windows 8).

Win 8 isn't a supported OS on our corporate network so instead I'm going to keep the machine standalone. However, before I can install any other protection I need to remove SEP but am unable to do so.

The Windows 7 removal instructions looked promising but no matter what I do I can neither edit nor remove the service or registry entries.

I have a copy of the Norton Removal Tool but that just complains that Norton Anti-Virus 9 is installed and should be removed using Control Panel -> Programs & Features (of course, it doesn't exist there).

    HELP!

    Pete

I suggest that you call support and get Cleanwipe to remove SEP as this is what it is used for.

Norton removal tool will not remove SEP.

Cleanwipe will be the fastes way to get rid of the corrupted installation - you will need to contact the Symantec Support to get the copy of the tool:
