This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hi

I am creating my first NetBackup Oracle policy. I have decided to use a template file. I have used a template wizard to create a template. The file has beed created successfully. When I run "Oracle Template Administration" colsole in a "Backup, Archive, and Restore" colsole I can see all created templates. When I try to view or edit one, a receive en error:

"Unnable to load template; reason: failed to retrieve template <template_name.tpl> from server <nbu_master_server_name>. invalid error number"

I have searched google and I have not found an answer. I think the client has a proper permissions on a master server, to enter the .tpl file.

NetBackup Master Server version: 6.5.2A

NetBackup Master Server OS Version: Windows Server 2003 R2 Ent 32-bit, ENG

NetBackup Client version: 6.5.2A

NetBackup Client OS Version: Windows Server 2003 R2 Ent 64-bit, ENG

Oracle version: 10g (work without archive logs yet, I am waiting for get it on by admin)

Backup fails withe the following errors:

bphdb: 02:56:54.244 [2396.2388] <16> bphdb: ERR - failed executing command <"C:\Program Files\Veritas\NetBackup\bin\bpdbsbora.exe" -backup -rw -t "Oracle_full_dzienny_test.tpl">

oracle_stderr.xxxxx.xxxx.txt: Unnable to load template; reason: failed to retrieve template <template_name.tpl> from server <nbu_master_server_name>. invalid error number

The errors above may appear becouse lack of archive logs in Oracle, but viewing and editing templates should be possible.

Please help.

I have used RMAN script instead of template file.
