Endpoint Protection

hi,

we've 35 computer in the LAB. previously we use Norton Antivirus Corporate edition 10 and recently upgraded to symantec endpoient protection 11.
we are using dell poweredge 2600 server (windows server 2000 which is main domain coltroller) and previously norton antivirus server 10 was install on this server. but now i decided to install symantec endpoint to another matchine. i've install the software without any problem and deploy all the client computer without any problem and working smoothly. but when i try to deploy the endpoint client to the server which was previously has norton antivirus server 10 i cant. its just start install and within few moment it just rolling back.

i've try to deploy from symantec endpoint protection manager console->search unmanage client.
from install pakages
but same result.

i've no idea what to do. please help me.

Are you running with SP4 on the server?

What features are included on your deployment? Only the antivirus and antispyware components should be installed. Do not install Network Threat Protection and/or Proactive Threat Protection.

Are you seeing any errors?
For most installation issues, you can find the installation log (located in the 'Temp' directory) for detailed errors/events.

BTW, I am moving your thread to the SEP 11/AV forum for better visibility.

Can you post the SEP_INST.log. If you want to post precise information, then search for "return value 3" and post the 5 lines before and after the find.

Start > run > %tmp%, Ok

search the SEP_ INST.LOG and post it.

Make sure you have removed everything related to Norton from the server before sending out the SEP package.

Try request cleanswipe from Support

Have you uninstalled Symantec System Center, Alert Management System (AMS)? If not, uninstall them first.

i cant uninstall AMS2 from symantec system center. i've already uninstall all program (Related to Norton) from add/remove and also delete from registry.

what should i do.

Please follow this document to uninstall AMS manually.

Thank you once again brother but i cant delete the following files under C:\Program Files\ Symantec\ Symantec System Center\ AMS2\ Winnt\

HARDWARE.CD_
MODEMCFG
SERVICES.CD_

FYKI i've strictly followed every steps of that document

AMS will not remote from registry properly..
Follow these easy steps.
Download Windows Installer Cleanup utility and remove AMS using that...it will definitely resolve your issue

Once installed go to all programs -open cleanup utility -AMS will be on the top..highlight and remove
Install SEP

Error 1603 Generally this problem revolves around SYSTEM account permissions on the target system, free disk space on the target system, or bad file download or locked/inaccessable file
