Can't back Up System State
Updated: 02 Mar 2009
Hi,
I recently recovered a Windows 2003 server to new hardware. Trying to take a backup of the system state and the job fails with the message "A failure occurred accessing the object list".
Going through eventvwr on the server that I am trying to take system state of shows an error. the file system structure on the disk is corrupt and unusable. Please run the chkdsk utility on the volume \device\harddiskVolumeShadowCopy1.
I ran chkdsk on the c drive and there were no errors. I ran chkntfs on all drives and it reported that each drive was not dirty.
Does anyone know how I find out where this shadowcopy is writing to?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Aline
