Can't choose WinPE (32 bit)

I have installed WinPE 5.X (x86) in the Boot Disk Creator and it's status is showing up as installed under the boot disk creator but when I try to use the x86 version when creating tasks in the System Console the only options are to use Auto Select or the 64 bit version.

I tried using Auto Select on an x86 machine and it still attempted to use the x64 WinPE version before failing. Is there something else I need to do to get the x86 version to show up on the drop down list?

    Thanks,

Did you launch Boot Disk Creator from the PXE Configuration Utility? If you launch the PXE Configuration utility is the entry showing under the Boot Menu tab and is x86 and x64 both showing as "Yes"? When you select the option and Edit both x86 and x64 should be selected.

Thanks a lot for the help. I was adding the x86 WinPE files through the Boot Disk Creator, but after adding them through the PXE config utility everything worked and I was able to select the x86 version. Now however I am geting an "Error -99 during imaging process" when trying to create either an x86 or 64bit image. (Using Console v3 HF4) The last message I can see on the client is "Client Record Updated"

Any more help you can give me would be great.

    Thanks!

That suggests that the image path you've put in isn't valid or can't be accessed from the WinPE session. Put a "Run Script" task in after to run in the same WinPE environment as the image task and have it just run "pause". Then when that runs on the PC you can ALT-TAB to the other Command window with a prompt to mapped drive for the eXpress share (usually F: or W:) and try to access the image path manually.

Many thanks, I was able to find out that the share was already being used and create my share to the storage location under a different drive letter which worked!

I am now getting the same error 99 when trying to image a Surface Pro 4, I saw that there was a known issue about problems ghosting Surface Pros but I was able to get past the initial troubles trying to create an image for the surface over ethernet using a licenced MS Surface dock after I added the driver to the list and thought my troubles were over. Then about 70% or more through the process after being able to create 34gb worth of the file it finally errors out with an "error -99 during imaging process." Any ideas?

    Thanks!

If the ghost engine (ghost32 or ghost64) failes part way through then a ghost error log will be created on your express share.   look on the server under c:\program files(x86)\altiris\deployment solution\express\ghost\  (or some thing very simular)  to see what the actual ghost error was.

If you hadn't already done so review the https://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.TECH224342.html for preping a surface pro 3 for image creation and deployment and it had been my expreiance that following the same will work on s surface pro4.

With the ghost error log I would then consider searching for the error noted in it to determine what is going on.

    Hope that helps.

I've checked under the folder you mentioned but I cant find any log files and no files updated since April of last year, could they be under a different folder? I am wondering if the error is a false postive as I was watching the station as it was uploading the image and I saw it get up to 100% before shutting down. Thinking of trying to restore the image tomorrow after modifying the current surface install so I can test to see if it was indeed working.

    Thanks,

I restored the image to the surface and it took 24 hours but it worked!

There is an issue we are seeing but I don't know the root of yet where the ghost portion finishes but the task doesn't report that and then all following steps fail.

I would ask if you continue to see the 99 after the image is deployed that you spin up a case with support or at least a new post so that this issue can be found by the title.

    Cheers.
