Hi,
I am not able to connect to the other machine using pcAnywhere more than once. I mean if once it is connected and I disconnceted it, then it gives the error "Communications Error: Can't attch to the specified device". After that there is no way other than to go to that machine and restart the pcAnywhere service.
Again after restarting the pcAnywhere service, I am able to connect only once.
I don't think this problem is realted to the version of the pcAnywhere as I am using version 12.1.0 and my colleague is using 10.5.1 and we both are facing the same problem.

If anyone has any advice on this i'd appreciate it.

Thanks& regrads,
Mohammad Zeeshan

I had the same problem

I had the same problem several months ago and Symantex was never able to figure it out.

BUT:  through another vendor I stumbled onto the solution that totally eliminated the problem for me:

You must make sure you are logged onto the host PC as the LOCAL administrator account when you install PCA.

What does the windows event logs say?

What do the windows event logs say?   If one of the components are crashing in pcA there will be a entry in your windows event logs.  Once you know what component is failing you will be able to start to trouble shoot it.

Best regards.
