Cant install Backup Exec

Created: 20 Apr 2008 • Updated: 21 May 2010 | 2 comments
Hello. I downloaded the trial for the most recent version of Backup Exec 12 for Windows Server and right before it installed the program, an error pops up saying that I need to disable the "ForceGuest" option in Windows. I have done a little research and have found that XP Home doesnt have this option, I checked for the registry keys, nothing. Is there somethimg I am missing here? Is there a way around this so I can install?
I am running Windows XP Home 32bit. I also have Backup Exec System Recovery installed along with Endpoint Protection. I am very curious to try this product out as I have been told it works great with the 2 programs I already have. Any help is much appreciated!
If a screen shot of the error is needed, let me know.

Backup exec 12 does not supports Windows XP home edition for installation as its a Desktop OS.
To install Backup exec 12 we at least require Windows XP Professional
Please check the Symantec Backup Exec for Windows Servers 12 - Software Compatibility List (SCL)

Its a best practice to have a "Support Contract" with Symantec...

Thank you for the reply. Is there another product similar that I could use in conjunction with Backup Exec System Recovery?
