  • 1.  Can't Install on Mac

    SEPM Server: 12.1.5

    Target: Mac 10.10.1

    Issue: Keep getting error: The application "Symantec Endpoint Protection Installer" can't be opened.

    Actions taken: export a new installer and run that on the Mac; same result

    Have you tried exporting another package?

    Yes, Windows packages are working fine.

    As stated above, the SEPM server is 12.1.5

    Hi,

    Thank you for posting in Symantec community.

    No separate installation log is written. Instead it is written to the system's installation log, which is most easily viewable via the Console application. With Console open, show the log list if it is not already showing; expand Files, then expand /private/var/log, and look for install.log . After listing some environmental variables, the phrase "Symantec Endpoint Protection Installation Log" will appear at the beginning of the installation cycle.

    Important points:

    • SEP 12.1.x does not support PowerPC processors.
    • As of SEP 12.1.2 (RU2), case-sensitive formatted volumes are supported.
    • You should remove legacy Symantec AntiVirus (SAV) for Mac installations before installing SEP for Mac 12.1.x.

    I think this issue is compatibility because symantec endpoint 12.1.5 support only mac 10.10

    Try to deploy it on mac 10.10 and check if you have same issue or not.

    OS X compatibility with Endpoint Protection for Mac

    I would suggest placing a call to support.
