  • 1.  Can't install remote client....

I have setup the ghost console on my computer and I'm trying to install the remote client from there to a laptop on the same subnet/domain. I can ping the computer and it can ping me, nslookup shows the proper DNS records in both directions, the firewalls are turned off on both machines, but when I try to install the client I get:

    Failed to install:
\\computer(10): Connection: Error connecting to client. Some
    possible causes are:
    1. Network connection is disabled/down on this machine and/or the client machine.
    2. Client's windows firewall may be blocking file and printer sharing.
    3. The computer name entered is misspelled or invalid.

When I go to the 'tools' menu in the console and choose 'remote client install' I can see the domain and the computer, but when I select it and click 'add' and then try to install the client it just keeps on giving me this message.

Does anyone have any idea how this can be resolved?

both the server and client are XP pro, but would it make a difference if the client has SP2 installed? I noticed on the Symantec site that it just lists XP pro but without SP2.
That seems to be the only thing I can see that isn't according to spec.

Okay, I got the client to install because I found out that the domain list was corrupted and it didn't see it as part of the domain. Once I rejoined and then uninstalled the client, I could use the remote installation link from the console.

However, I still can't see the comptuer in the folder after it has the client.

    Anyone know why?
