Can't Log into SEPM after upgrade to 12.1.5 RU

    After upgrading my SEPM to 12.1.5 RU I can't log into the SEPM.  I found this tech article (http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH216042&profileURL=https%3A%2F%2Fsymaccount-profile.symantec.com%2FSSO%2Findex.jsp%3FssoID%3D1422543210200H5z6km6qb6eVX3A7HS6Wc3qLeR3voVf1t5JlO) that explains my symptoms perfectly but I'm unable to modify my "Log on as a service Properties" becuase they are greyed out even though I'm,logged in as Administrator.

    I'm running Win Server 2008 R2 standard ed.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    I should also point out that immediately after the upgrade I was able to deploy the update to almost all my clients but after a reboot I can't get the services started on the SEPM.

    Did you try setting via GPO?

    Log on in GPO or services tab ?

    try a repair, from add/remove programs it should put the things back

    had the same discussion few days back

    under serivces, change the log on account to system and start the service.

    I was trying to edit GPO on this particular server. Do I need to do that from my domain controller?  this server is just another machine my network... (sorry, the boss makes me do I.T. but i'm certainly not an I.T. person)

    Are you sure your domain account has the proper privileges to make changes like this? This seems to be the issue.

    yes, logged in a domain Administrator

    Hi Rafeeq, I changed the log on account to system and I was able to get the services started with the exception of the embedded database.  In services it just shows as "starting" but never gets going... and because of this I can't run the repair from add/remove programs because it can't stop the service from trying to start.

    So i'm still stuck

    if it fails after reboot ,try this
