Hello everyone,

I need help restoring my Ghost 11 database.  I unfortunately had a virus on my ghost server workstation, and I had to reimage the PC.  I backed up the original ghost install by copying the entire folder to my D drive before reimaging C.  Now I find I can't open my old database.  I have tried everything, but no luck.  Here is what I have tried:

Install fresh version of ghost 11 to c, then rename it, and copy back old folder from d

fresh install of ghost 11, and copy contents of D:\Symantec\Ghost\db to c

fresh install of ghost 11, regedit, point HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Symantec\Symantec Ghost\InstallDirectory, point db to D:\Symantec\Ghost\db and dbeng to D:\Symantec\Ghost\bin

anyone have any other suggestions?

Do you have the database

Do you have the database username & password?

The usual way to do this is to run the backup & restore scripts under the program files\symantec\ghost\scripts\ folder. Call support and beg for a courtesy case to be opened.  ;)

Good luck; next time create the backup before you reimage your server (not just copy over the files).
