Can't upgrade to Windows 10

  • 1.  Can't upgrade to Windows 10

    I am trying to upgrade windows 7 to windows 10

    Running Endpoint protection 12.1.2015.2015

    Windows says I need to uninstall endpoint protection

    Could not, getting "Teefer has stopped working"

    "Firewall corrupt"

    Repair does not correc the corrupt Firewall.

     

    How can I install Windows 10?

    You need to get SEP off that system first.

    Have you tried removing add/remove programs?

    Best and quickest method is to open a support case and provide a valid customer ID. They will provide you will the download information for Cleanwipe.

    Thanks Brian and Greg12,

     

    Tried to do a repair for the firewall. 

    The update ran good, all signatures were current.

    Have a "Firewall driver not loaded"

    Used MS uninstall to remove SEP and got "Symantec Teefer Install has stopped working" "Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available"

    Waiting for MS ;-)

    SEP did not uninstall.  I was told tht I needed to upgrade to 12.1.6 to upgrade from windows 7 to windows 10.  is that true?

    Yes, but, specifically it's version 12.1.6 MP1.

    The latest version out is 12.1.6 MP3. The client patch for it is here:

    I ran into this so decided to remove SEP before upgrading using sccm task sequence, which brought up another issue of having to remove a password protected sep without removing tamper protection or the password.

    My solution... was to attempt to use sendkeys to automate cleanwipe to remove SEP and re-install after windows was upgraded, full write up here:

    I went ot the link you provided and installed Sep64_6168To6608-clientDAXMSI

    It did not change the product version 12.1.2015.2015

    Could not uninstall SEP

    Messages still the same below.

    "Firewall driver still not loaded"  

    "Firewall is malfunctioning"  "Firewall is not functioning correctly.  Your protection definitions may be damaged or your product installation may be corrupt"

    Did I install the correct update?

    You should've downloaded the applicable one for either 32 or 64 bit, depending on what your OS is.

    I am running a DELL INSPIRON N7110 with a 64 bit OS.

    The Sep64_6168To6608-clientDAXMSI  a 64 bit OS patch.

    I still have the same problems with the firewall (Firewall driver not loaded).  It is still at    Endpoint protection 12.1.2015.2015  

    I can't uninstall it to load windows 10.

    I really not have a clue now.
