  • 1.  Can't use Public Key after generating it with Symantec Encryption Desktop

I'm using Symantec Encryption Desktop, and I walked through the Setup Assistant to create my key pair.  It says that the key pair was created, and the Public Key was placed on the PGP Global Directory.  But when I check the directory for my email address (by going to https://keyserver.pgp.com), my email address is not there.  And when another PGP user tries to send me encrypted email, he gets an error message indicating that the public key was not found.

When I try to upload my key manually from the Symantec Desktop environment, I get an error message stating that "this key has already been submitted, and is currently pending verification."

How do I verify a Public Key that is on the PGP Global Directory?  I need to enable the Public Key so others can use it.

    Thanks,

The keyserver will send you an e-mail for verification with verification instructions. I believe it asks you to click a link and use that to verify your address. Make sure to check your spam folder for a verification email. Some overactive spam filters may place it there.

That was it!  Caught in my spam filter.  Pulled it out, verified the address, and all is well.  Thanks!
