One of our customers has recently installed BE11d at 12 x Remote sites. They have also installed BE11d on one of the Servers at the main office to act as the CASO Server.

All 12 x sites have been installed as Managed Media Servers and are visible to the CASO Server.

We have setup all the jobs via the CASO Server so that each site will run it's own respective backups to it's own backup devices.

The problem we have is that the Jobs do start at the scheduled time, but they just stay in the queued state. The next morning we have to cancel these jobs.

When we setup the jobs locally on the remote sites, they kick off at the scheduled time and the backup runs successfully.

This only occurs with the delegated backup jobs. When we schedule quick erases / formats etc from the CASO Server, it completes successfully.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Francois,

Does the job stay in Queued or "Recovered"?  Please check out technote 288366 - "Backup jobs on Central Administration Server (CAS) go into status "Recovered", however on the Managed Media Server (MMS) they are displayed correctly." (http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/288360.htm) to verify whether this is what you are experiencing.

Also, I have seen similar issues happening if the "Selection List" for the job contained more that 85 lines of selection.  At present, the only solution/workaround is to split up the "Selection List" to contain less than 85 lines.

Regards,

Christiane
