  • 1.  CCS Assessment Manager v11 - creating attesters

    Posted Oct 23, 2014 12:34 PM

In CCS Assessment Manager (v 11),  we cannot launch assessments, if attesters cannot be chosen from the AD account list drop-down. It appears that the AD user list is displayed differently and when the user (attester) is chosen from the list, the error given is 'user does not exit or does not belong to a specified group. The group is not listed.

Questions: 1. Does CCS- AM (Assessment Manager) provide for creation of attester as a local user within the application without interfacing with AD (Active Directory)?

    2. If AD integration is required for attesters, why this error and what is the solution?

I figured this out.   Type in domainname\user and you should be able to add the user.  I am getting another error now when there are two users with the same name.

This is the information I received from Symantec (Katelyn Erlei)

The user lookup is based on the user's "Display Name" in Active Directory. If you are unable to add a user, please confirm what is defined in the Display Name field in AD for the account. While many organizations use a naming convention where the Display name is comprised of the "First name + Last name" fields, the "Display Name" can be an arbitrary string and is not necessarily the same as the person's name.

To add users from domains other than the one where the CCS AM server is hosted, look them up with the format domain\user.
