CE6.0 issue with connecting to Altiris Deployment Server after upgrade client to 6.9.430

Dear Sir/Madam,

We bought 15 HP T5540 Terminals last month. These terminals all run Windows CE 6.0.
The problem is that when we put the terminal on,  it register’s itself on the Altiris Deployment Server, (which we reinstalled with DP6.9 SP3). The Deployment server then upgrades the Altiris Agent to version 6.9.430, and after that I cannot manage it anymore.

The strange thing is that when I remove the Agent installer from the Deployment server and reimage the Thin Client so it gets it’s default CE installation (Latest image from HP.com website) and default agent (6.9.274 I believe) it runs fine and I’m able to send it reboot requests etc.
(the Deployment server however keeps creating an Agent update task which cannot run because I moved the source files).
After I move back the source files the Agent get’s updated and I cannot manage it anymore.
Then I tried a terminal with CE 5.0, this is a T5530 because the T5540 doesn’t install CE5.0 because there is no license for that on the terminal.
First I installed the default CE5.0 image (latest from HP.com of course) then it registered itself on the DP server, Agent updates … and everything runs fine! I can to everything I need, reboot, get image, push image .. Then tried installing CE 6.0 in the T5530 (also latest version from HP.com). but this also didn’t work. Same issue as the T5540. So I believe it’s something with CE6.0 in combination with Altiris Deployment server.
When I look in the Deployment Console I also see all the CE 6.0 clients as "powered on" but there is no user logged onto it. The CE 5.0 clients all show a user which is logged on.

I already checked the Altiris website for a hotfix, but there is no hotfix released for the CE client. Also searched the KB for a solution, but also without success.

I hope you can help me with this issue.

Best regards,
Vincent Oosterhof

Problem found

Hi, back again.
for everybody who has the same issue..

On the Altiris server the default setting for the new agents was  'encrypt session communication with the DS server'.
So when a new client was booted, it got an agent update, the applied the encryption settings and bye bye.. no communictation.
Strange thing is that only the CE6 terminals have this issue.. CE5 still works with encryption enabled.
I have a call logged with the teggies at HP, when they give me any relevant info i'll post it here.

the setting in DS is:
(Tools --> Options --> Tab Agent Settings -->  enabled "Force new agents to take these default settings" --> Tab Security --> "Encrypt session communication with Deployment Server ").

Regards.
