  • 1.  Central Quarantine not able to update

    Hi all,

     

    We are testing Symantec Central Quarantine. Seems that we have also come up to the same problem that many users have already mentioned on the technet. Central quarantine is not able to download virus definitions. We have configured gateway address as gateways.dis.symantec.com. No secure submission/definitions download. Our server is behind proxies. Upon checking the logs, we found that, server is trying to access "http://gw03entry01.dis.symantec.com:2847". We suspect whether such URL exists as there is no A rocord on the internet for such an URL. Can any one please suggest where have we got it wrong. There is no issue with the proxy authentication.

    That is Symantec server which accepts the submmissions. You need to allow access thru your fw.

    Thts correct Brian. But when I'm accessing this URL proxy is throwing an error saying "Bad gateway". When i try to access the URL using browser, it says "Host not fout". Then i tried to lookup the URL using online DNS tools. There I found that there isno A record on internet with such FQDN.

    check on proxy and firewall if the URL can be resolved and pport is open
