Certification

Created: 17 Mar 2009 • Updated: 21 Oct 2010 | 18 comments

hi,

Is all the certifications related to Netabckup are valid only for Max 1 yr?Does that mean that we need to do the same certification after 1 yr to keep it alive?

Is there any other alternate solution?

Hi,

Symantec Certifications have no expiration date. You only have to take the exams once, but will probably want to take the newer versions of the exams as they are released to stay current with the technology.

Sincerely,

Elizabeth

Hi Elizabeth,

Thanks for the updation. It will be great if you can give it in a quicker time.

Does all the Veritas certifications has been renamed to Symantec?Does that mean that Symantec has acquired veritas?

Thanks in Advance,

Zaad

Hi,

Yes, Symantec acquired Veritas.  We have updated the award names to Symantec Certified Specialist (previously Veritas Certified Specialist), but the product names have remained the same.

Sincerely,

Elizabeth

I got a few STS. How does it hold up? And would non-partners be able to have it?

I guess my SCTS would have expired because the Certification itself expired..
But all my STS's should be active..

Everytime a major revision of SEP11 is released, the course is updated as far as I know. The next course will focus on MR5. The versions are released frequently compared to other industry products so, you would pay a lot of money to stay on top.
