Change account for Resource Credentials not permitted

Created: 21 Jan 2005 • Updated: 21 May 2010 | 5 comments

Installed B.E. 9.1 on new server, created restricted account, created a job and when attempting to change the resource credential for this account, the it selects the default account and will not let me change it. The change button is greyed out. The selection is \\ip.ip.ip.ip\E$, and therefor not accessable via browser on same LAN.

I use a domain administrator account and the restricted account credentials are correct.

Now what?

Are the services running on that machine as this 'restricted account' or as the Domain Admin account? you could try changing these?

Or If the restricted user account is on a different LAN then this wont be available on the server your trying to backup?

The remote B.E. services are started with the same account as the Restricted Account on the Backup Server.

What is weird is that this installation is still installed on the previously used Backup server on which it did work. So the scenario was possible. A port was opened between the two networks on the router in between the two servers, for the new, just as for the old backup server. So nothing should be different.

Kindly refer the following technote link to troubleshoot the issue.

If this does not help, delete the logon account and create another one.

I recently moved the Backup Exec software following Veritas instructions from server A to server B without problems, just for this disabled Change button. I tryed everything you explain here but still having problems with disabled Change button.I even created a new job from scratch but nothing.
Please, I need an answer.
Thank you very much.
