Change install folder for DAgent

When we ran remote agent installer, the dagent files were installed to c:\windows\temp. Another application we use on our computers uses that directory and would not run properly after dagent was installed (error msg-- c:\windows\temp being used by another process). I uninstalled the agent and then the application was fine.

Is there a way to specify another folder for DAgent install rather than c:\windows\temp?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Kristen

How do you install the DAgent?

During the installation process there is a prompt "Altiris Deployment Agent Setup" with a Browse button to input the location you want to use (see attachment)

Thanks

Hi Dominique,

Thanks for your reply. After more research it looks like the agent (also tried Aclient vs. DAgent) installs to the correct folder but there is an executable called alsmb.exe that runs out of c:\windows\temp. This .exe is interfering with our other program. I tried to look online as to what alsmb.exe and it seems to be a DOS monitoring tool. It only appears after Altiris is installed so I'm assuming it's from Altiris.

Does anyone know if there is a way to specify a different location for alsmb.exe?

Thanks,

Kristen
