  • 1.  Change SWD Package Location

Hi All, I need to move the package location for several active tasks, the package location I'm referencing is the one set on the 'Package' tab when creating a new package in NS 6.x. I have several Package Servers that deploy the packages through our network and they reference this location. I know that if you disable a task and delete its corresponding package in the same day you will flood the network with status messages from each client. If I change the directory location for the active tasks/packages will I encounter this same phenomenon? What is the best way to accomplish this? Thanks.

is simply change the package path within the Notification Server console. When you apply all the changes you made, and update the distribution points, the package servers will (depending on the cycle they check in) receive the changes and update the necessary files and locations.

Until they all are notified and update the changes, the clients who download from them will get the 'waiting to retry download', but they will eventually work.

As long as you're not deleting anything, you don't' need to disable and wait or any other steps. Simply change the package properties, update the distribution points and wait.
