  • 1.  Changing http port for console, package download and agent

    Hello,

I'm working on the design of altiris architecture for a large environment (around 40 k nodes) and have some questions regarding port utilization. My customer don't want to use default HTTP port because he can't add QOS on this traffic.

My question is how to change default port for :

    - Agent communication - I wan't to use port 8090

    - Webconsole - I wan't to use port 8091

    - Package download (HTTP only) - I wan't to use port 8092

I read an article and it seems that changing the port for agent communication could me made by changing the Server Web port in advanced tab in targeted agent settings. Is it right?

For webconsole, it seems that changing the binding ports and adding the new one is working fine.

For package download it seems more complicated and I don't understand how to change that and don't understand the process to create codebases.

    Any help would be apprecaited.

    Thanks.

    Stéf.

    Packages:
    http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO44399

    Port:
    http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO2719

Then apply using targeted agent settings.

    Thank you Mike,

Do you know if we can change the default port on the NS for clients (or site server package service) that downloading packages directly from it?

Yes.  The two KBs explain this process.
