    Hi,

I wanted to move management servers from Server1 to Server2 and I thought the easiest way to do this would be to set up Server2 as a replication partner.  I did that and it's working great.  Now the next step... if I want to completely eliminate Server1 from the mix and have all the clients look to Server2 would I just remove Server1 as a replication partner and uninstall the Endpoint Protection Manager from Server1?  Or is there more to it than that?

    Thanks.

    HI

By the time of replication it will create a management server list (you can identify this list by the site name.If you are still confused edit the same and it will tell you the IP address and name which it belongs.).This you can find in Policies---->Policy components--->management server list .assign it to the group which you required(The groups which the clients which is suppose to receive virus definitions from replication server.)
    or
create a new management server list and assign to the groups which the clients which is suppose to receive virus definitions from replication server.Refer this doc

you need to change the management server list and have it configured as per the requirement.also note that if you remove primary replication then you will have issue when you wnat to add replication again with another server

    Hi Unfrozen,

This can be done in 3 steps.

    1) Create a New Server Management List on your SEPM 2. Give it a custom name like the name of your SEPM 2 Server for example.

    As Priority 1:

    IP Adress of SEPM 2

    FQDN of SEPM 2

    2) Assign this new Server Management List to all your Client group and confirm the assignement.

    3) Last one and it's probably the one that most of customers forget to do, perform a full replication cycle once the 2 first steps are done.

Then the policy will be replicated on the SEPM 1, the client will be aware of this new policy and will get it (depending how frequently they are online and their Heartbeat Interval).

For this third and last step, it is recommended to let the 2 SEPMs run for a certain period of time as you may have some clients offline during the time being so you need to wait few hours or few days if the users who are using the machines offline are on holidays or week-end, whatever.

Once you ensured that all your clients machine have been online during that period of time, you will notice that all your clients will be online on your SEPM 2 and then they will all be displayed with Online status on SEPM 1 with the up red arrow and "Online connected to a remote site".

At that stage you'll be good and you will be able to uninstall the SEPM 1 and do whatever you want with your old free server :-)

    Kind Regards,

    A. Wesker
