Changing SQL from localhost to remote host

I am troubleshooting a system where the box was setup with a locally hosted database. However, SQL is off box. The console won't even load for me and the log is full of SQL connection failures. What settings need to be changed to fix this?

Is this version 6 or 7?
If it's version 6, log on to the box and load this url: http://localhost/Altiris/NS/Install/NSSetup.aspx
That will be a mini-setup process and you should be able to select the off-box server.
If it's v7, try and do a repair via the Symantec Installation Manager, via the start -> programs -> altiris menu.
