I have few Vista clients on our environment and multiple clients reported the same problem. After installing SEP client, CISCO VPN virtual adapter fails to start. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the application afresh. But now VPN client doesn't install at all. Deterministic Network Enhancer component fails to get installed and throw's up error 1722. Need urgent help...!!!

That doesn't seem to be the exact problem I have. As I said earlier, now I can't install VPN client at all as the Deterministic network enhancer fails to install even after uninstalling SEP client. anyway I will try pushing the new MP2 and give a try today.

We don't run Vista (we lucked out and opted to skip it) but we DO run a LOT of Cisco VPN software...... on XP and not a one has caused us issues ever.
We have  SEP installed on each image, then install the Cisco VPN client/software later, and it simply goes.
Rafeeq already asked - is that link he posted related?  You are on an older build - I'd update SEP first......
Have you tried the latest build of SEP? What if you remove SEP, install the VPN client, then install SEP?

The company I work for uses

The company I work for uses an OEM VPN client based on Safenet.  The version of the client we have uses an older Determanistic Network Enhancer and has this same issue.  If NTP is enabled VPN breaks.  The newer codebases for the Safenet client fixes this issue.  You may wan't to check and see if there is an updated Cisco VPN client available to you.   Symantec support won't touch our issue as there is a newer client build that fixes the problem.  Sadley we are not licesed to use that build.  It would be wonderful if someone actually looked at the problem and gave a good try at fixing it.  I've heard the that Nortel VPN clients have similar issues.

 I found this link on

I found this link on Citrix's website.   You may want to try updating the DNE client and see if that helps the issue.

I have tried this. But that could not fix my problem. Still installation of updated version fails saying OS file corruption may be preventing installation.

Which version of the cisco VPN are you running.  I was running Vista version 5.x of the cisco VPN up until a week ago when I upgraded to Windows 7.

Newer Cisco VPN client

There is actually a newer Cisco VPN client that has been available since March.  The executable is named vpnclient-win-msi-5.0.05.0290-k9.exe.
