  • 1.  Clean wipe tool

    Hi ,

    We have set uninstall password for SEP client, while using the clean wipe tool it is requesting to enter the uninstall password.

    Is there any chance to bypass the uninstall password prompt for user, we don’t want to share uninstall password with user.

    We have SEP 12.1 and latest Clean wipe tool.

    Fro using clean wipe local admin rights is required?

    Yes you need to run it with administrative privileges.

    When you run Cleanwipe tool need a admin rights for removing SEP

    and you can be change registry setting not be ask any password

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\AV\AdministratorOnly\Security\UseVPUninstallPassword

    Set to 0 to disable.

    After setting don't be ask password

    Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\SMC

    look for smcinstdata key; delete it

    go to add/remove program and uninstall the client
