  • 1.  Cleaning up package server

I have this in the veritas forums too but not sure as the correct location as this is in the Altiris side too..

I am cleaning up our package servers and I see we have things waiting to download. While this does not affect anything functionality wise I definitely would like to not see this.
We do not use these versions so I dont care if we even delete them. I dont see these packages anywhere to remove to clean it up. nor can I figure out where to even download them if I just wanted to stage them to have them replicate out and get the error gone.

    Thx for any advice

Go to Manage > All Resources > Package and delete them from there.

I gave this a try earlier before putting in the forums... I get..

The item 'Install LightsOut Restore 2010' is being referenced by one or more other items. You must first delete these items or remove the dependencies before the selected item can be deleted. Re-try Delete?

so if I try and delete the top it give the error again thus this is what im trying to get rid of. I go to 2nd item and there is no delete.

I'm assuming there's no Software Resource left for these items. The second item in your list looks like the install command. Try looking in Manage > All Resources > Software Command line to see if it's there. If not you could try and get the GUID of the 2nd item and try it in the URL here: http://localhost/Altiris/NS/Admin/Menu Items/DeleteItem.aspx?itemguid=<guid> "Unable to delete item due to dependencies" http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH147435
