I have got some space cleaned up on a server that needs it pretty bad.

So for now it is working.

But I would love to confirm something I have read before I do it.

I have seen a post saying I can delete everything under c:\program files (x86)/symantec/liveupdate?

If I can that will help considerably.

Not sure how much comes back and if I should force a live update after?

I am trying to decide if I want to change a AD account for the login to the console as I can't get into that either and the company I work for has a documented password that does not work.   I have confirmed that account is not associated with any services but it is labled Symantec endpoint protection LDAP service.

So any idea's on how to get into the console to look at some settings to maybe permanantly keep some space freed up would be great also.

    Thanks

I think I have read that one and would love to do that.

    If I could login.

I am going to do a little more digging around to see if I can find the password for the admin. account.

If I can't find it I may have to change it in AD and hope it does not break anything.  :)

It is not a part of any of the services so I am not to worried just have been there before.

    Thanks for the help.

    Yea thanks I found that.

    Forgot about it.

I tried it on a different setup a while back and the .bat file was not there.

    It was for this one.

So I have got into the console and the settings are pretty much setup for saving space.

I changed the live update from keeping 3 to 2.

Will watch it for a while.

The symantec folder that endpoint is in is still at about 18 gig.

Is that pretty normal for say a 20 client setup?

    Thanks

Depends on how long you keep logs for and what the database size is...it could be normal though..

I was looking under c:\porgram files (x86)\symantecSymantec endpoint protection manager\inetpub

There is a folder called content that has over 3 gig in it but the contents are pretty much time stamped today.

There is also a folder called clientpackages that has a couple gig in it and the time stamps on the folders in it are almost 2 years old.   Deletalbe ??  :)

Those are the definitions in the inetpub folder

Yes, you can delete old client packages but you need to do it from the SEPM, do not manually delete from the folder.
