Ok so time to do some cleanup...

if i delete the software task, collection and software... will it clean itself up from the package servers?

Yes The packages will be removed if you have set this in the Package Server configuration. The options is delete unused packages after x days.

I have that set  to Never.... thinking that was on the local desktops...

So you are saying if I set that to say 10 days on a new package....

setup a rollout to go out in 30 days... the software will delete itself off of the servers in 10 days so i wont have the software available to distribute?

sorry for the newbish question.. i never bothered cleaning up... hence the never and dont worry about it... but looking at going to NS 7 soon so I want to cleanup what i have to keep track of what i need....

ok so then a good strategy to get rid of stuff is simple...

knowing it will be retired...

1. delete task
2. delete collection
3. mark software package to delete if not used for 1 day

in 2 days.. the software will be removed from all package servers and from the Software page in NS..

• Delete task
• Delete package
