We know that uninstalling SEP does not remove the Symantec Auto-upgrade Agent service, where auto-upgrade has been used (see articla cited below) but I noticed also that CleanWipe v11.0.6000 also did not remove this service.

--> My question:  is Auto-upgrade agent being added to later versions of CleanWipe?

    Hi,

I have checked latest cleanwipe 6.3 history status - it's not saying specific about auto-upgrade agent service.

KB article which you have attached http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH102478 there is one Etrack id mentioned i.e 1124450

So according to Etrack there is no loss of functionality and the file is actually removed during uninstall. So they figure out the manual work around of eliminating the entry in the registry (and thus the entry in the Service Control Manager) and add it to a KB.
