  • 1.  Clear out IPSDefs files

I noticed my disk space is getting low on my Server 2003 SEPM server.  I've noticed SEPM is taking up a majority of the space and the IPSDefs folder is currently using 4GB of space.  Is there a way to go in and clean these up on the server to free up some space?  Thanks

The first thing you'd want to do is run the SymDiag tool to determine if the definition set is corrupted:

Download SymDiag to detect Symantec product issues

If so, it should provide the ability to clear it up automatically or provide a link to the correct KB article.

4GB is a little over the top!  Thumbs up to Brian, the SymDiag tool is able to resolve a great many issues.

As a shortcut, the below article shows how to clear out corrupt defs:

NOTE: As you've named the IPSDefs folder in particular, this sounds like a an issue with the SEP Client on the server, rather than the SEP Manager that you mention.
