  • 1.  Clearing orphaned objects on Child NS

    Hi there,

Is there anyway to clean up orpaned objects on child NS servers.  We have had some issue where our parent server has replicated down filters and folders that shouldn't be replciated.  We deleted the on he pareent but they still show up as replicated items on the child.  We can't do anything with them.  They make the console a mess.

We are on 7.1 rollup 8.

I do remember something about exporting the objects xml and the changing something in the xml and re-importing it to break its replication association and this allows you to delete from the child NS.

Does anyone know how to do this?

    Arty

    Hi thanks, for the reply.

There is a link in there that says this is known issue.  I have seen this TECH42955, basically just says they are working on the issue.  Our suppprt did tell us how to do this as its happend before.

    regards,

To make mess items on Child server accessible for deletion, you need to remove all these Child Servers from hierarchy node on Parent Server, themn these replicated mess items on Child Servers will be available for manual deletion. After that, when all mess and unnecesary replicated Items will be manually deleted from Child SMP Console, you need to go back to Parent Server and add these Child servers back to return back your Hierarachy structure and replications.

I don't think that you want to use such way, so probably better will be export these mess items on Child Servers and set them:

    • IsHierarachyManaged = False
    • IsReplicable = False

If you place their guid in the ItemToDelete table, do they get deleted during the early morning backend processes without doing what Igor suggests?
