Hallo,

In some cases I use manual deployment wizard from SEPM (12.1) console (Home / Commnon Tasks / Install Protection to client computers ).

A have four packages RU4 on the SEPM server (32/64/ENG/CZ versions). How can I select right package?

From the drop-down menu "install packages" a can choose only different versions of packages (old 2015 or new 4013) or different platform Win/MAC.

When I choose proper version, I can see that "This Selection includes" four packages. BUT how can I choose correct language version?

I just deployed clinet on the Win server with ENG OS but the SEP client is in CZE version :(

Why I cannot choose install package directly like in older version of SEP?

The wizard will detect on the client the correct one to install. This is part of the new CDW for 12.1.

It contains all those and once you authenticate to the client thru the CDW, it will choose the correct one based on the clients architecture.

Well, sorry, but... what is "CDW"? Something about licensing or any feature...? Thank you, Brian!

oh, I see probably client deployment wizard ...

but I do not understand how CDW choose the package. Based on what? Regional settings? OS language (no!)? In my case, it choose wrong package and I cannot change it. This it really stupid feature. Jesus!

that option will show all the package ( Install files ) this is what you see under admin- install packages tab. to select the langauge.

You need to create a installation setting, which would have your Lang selection, follow this document and create one, once you do this, you will find your setting fromt the drop down menu

While the Client Deployment Wizard (CDW, the tool you're using from "Home -> Commnon Tasks -> Install Protection to client computers") is able to detect processor architecture, it sounds as if it is unable to detect the language of the target machine (as demonstrated by it pushing the CZE SEP client to your EN Windows machine).

As a workaround, you could try exporting the client install packages to an installation file (http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO81164), and pushing them out using the Push Deployment Wizard (found in the SEP Part_2 media under Tools -> PushDeploymentWizard):

As the Push Deployment Wizard lets you choose exactly which execuatable to push, you can always be sure you have the right language version going to the right machine.  The only difference is that you will also have to ensure you're pushing the correct cpu architecture package as well, as this wizard does not detect the difference between x86 and x64.

I would suggest to go with Auto upgrade feature if it's existing client.

For new set of machines as SMLatCST said use Push deployment Wizard.

What's the CZ/CZE version? how you created it?

The Client Deployment Wizard will detect whether a client has a 32bit or 64bit OS and nothing more at this time.  So to get the right package, you create the package you need.  Then when you go to deploy  to the clients try selecting "Existing Package" and locate the package you need for deployment.

thank you for reactions! CZ/CZE mean Czech language version of SEP client. Autoupgrade is fine, but manual deployment I use in case there is some error or feature settings change (reinstall with uninstal and/or upgrade client).

I will deploy packages separate and then push it to client, no problem.
