Deployment Solution

Hi, I am new to the Altiris forum. I am facing following issue,

I have deployed a W2K8 R2 server using Altiris. After completion the Deployment server keeps trying to connect to the newlybuilt serevr on port 402. How can I stop this network traffic.

Are you sure?

The agent on your new deployed machine should try to reach the deployment server on port 402, not the other way around.

What's your issue with that? Do you want to remove the agent?

Yes, I have manually removed the agent but the deployment server still tries to connect that server.

So my guess is, it is still "blue/connected" in the console?

So you could right click it and "reset connection" to get it disconnected (will happen after some hours automatically), or just delete the computer from the console (it is not managed anymore anyway).

Once in a while the deployment server tries to reach all managed computers to see if they are online and the server missed the connection.

The interval can be configured in the service configuration - somewhere :).

I have already done that, first I 'reset connection' - still it is trying to connect the server. So I deleted this server from the console. But it still tries to connect.

The refresh interval is set to 60 minutes.

You could try TCPView to find out which component is trying to connect:

The component it tries to connect is 'axeengine.exe'.

Tried a service restart?

Yes, I have also restarted the Deployment server. Currently there are no references of the newly built server in Altiris.
