This issue has been solved. See solution.

Greetings

my question is, should i update the netbackup client if a client migrate from 32 bit OS to 64 bit OS?
Actually backups of the SAP DB are succesefull, but i don't know if there are any disadvantages.

Thanks for your help.

It is good practice to make

It is good practice to make sure you are running the correct version of NetBackup for your CPU architecture. Your backups may work for now but if an issue comes up you may not be able to get support until you update the client to 64 bit.

Agree with dltsc

If you don't matches the client with the OS, some Netbackup operations won't work. For example backup of a MS SQL 64 bit edition on a Netbackup 32 bit edition will fail.

Assumption is the mother of all mess ups.

If this post solved you’re questions please send a gratitude by marking it as a solution.
