  • 1.  Client not reporting to replication partner for backups

    Posted Dec 27, 2011 02:11 PM

I've recently set up a off site server as a SEP replication partner that 200 of our computer will hopefully be reporting to.  In the Policy Settings I've got "use as specified internal liveupade server" selected with the ip address of the server and the address (which I'm guessing is the one I would use to access the management console?) but the test machine I've applied this setting to is still reporting back to the main SEP server and getting it's updates from there.  I've applied the policy to the group and it says it's applies but it doesn't seem to be working.  Anyone have any ideas?

can you check the settings.liveupdate on the client to know if the Internal live update administrator IP/hostname is reflecting?

    Hello,

In the Option "use as specified internal liveupate server ", you need to Insert the Ip address path of the Liveupdate Administrator.

Do you have a Liveupdate Administrator Installed??

When I check my test machine it's pointing towards the main management server for its updates and not the replication server that i have set up.  Here is the settings I have.  The server name is the replciaton server and the address is the web interface

Do I need to set up the "Group Update Provider" option?

    the reference is not reflecting?

the policy may not have taken by the client machine, ensure there is proper communication between server & client.

Instead of trying to change the liveupdate policy to use a specified internal iveupdate server you are going to need to edit the management server list to point these remote 200 clients to the other server. In policies just under liveupdate expand policy components then edit manaement server lists, add a list then add this new SEPM as priority 1 and assign it to the group you have these 200 machines in.

After doing this, change your liveupdate policy back to use default management server as the clients will be pulling defs from the SEPM they are checking into (your new server).
