Client upgrades MR3 to MR4MP2

The bulk of my clients are MR3 right now.  I was not able to upgrade them with the concoles due to the removal of getting the source files from HTTP.  I am testing upgrading clients by assigning a package from the console out now and it seem like machines that are not already some version of MR4 are not wanting to upgrade.   Am I going to have to build a full sms package out again to get all the MR3 machines to upgrade or is something wrong?

As far as i know you will

As far as i know you will need to upgrade the clients to MR4 before going to MR4 MP2.
That was the case for upgrading to MR4 MP1a.

Here is what I found

Here is what I found and if anyone from Symantec can confirm or deny this that would be a big help

I looks like even though my SEPM console is MR4MP2 and is capable of doing an install from a HTTP source   I can only install MR4 from the SEPM console.    Once I am up to MR4 I can then use a HTTP server to go from MR4 to MR4MP2.    Still testing here but that seems to be the case at least.  As soon as I switched to install from SEPM the MR4 upgrade went immediatly.
