Clients able to download virus def files but Symantec System Center unable to communicate??

    I have never had a reason to manage my clients, every week i see what threats i have, veirfy def files were updated on clients, and go on with my life.

     

    now i need to make some changes (move the primary server) but Symantec System Center is unable to communicate with the clients..

     

    but , the clients are able to communicate with the primary server, they can download virus definations, they can report threats to it ..

     

    but i cannot configure any of my clients from the primary server through Symantec System Center?? says unable to connect check client on etc ...

     

    firewall rules allow ALL ACCESS ON ALL PORTS from our internal network..

     

    any help would be great
