Hi,
I have a question about copying clients between groups.
Im using SEPM 12.1 and in order to test out the new 12.1 clients im copying old SEP 11 clients to a temp group with a client install 12.1 attachted to it so the can update.
The groups im copying clients from are AD OU groups, so i cant move the clients but i have to copy them.
This works ok, clients is copied to the new temp group, clients goes offline in its imported AD OU group.
Once the client is installed i delete the client from the temp group.
Only the client in the original AD OU group stays offline, how do i get this client back online?
THANKS,
LEVD

Hi Ashish,
Ok i understand this http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH142225 i allready did this, but the copy is temporary because im only copying it to the temp group to install a new SEP client.
The document doesnt describe what to do if the copy is temporarly, im now deleting the clients from the temporary group if the new SEP is installed, will the come back online in the AD group?

? anyone
if sep is installed and you deleted the group, it would come again when you import the ad again
for sep clients to be online and visible in SEPM , it needs a group. that group will be your AD OU
if you delete them and dont add, they end up in default group.
temp group used to exist in old sepm I guess i'm not sure even i forgot :)
Please don't forget to mark your thread solved with whatever answer helped you : ) Rafeeq
Hi Rafeeq,
thanks, will try it.
Create temp group for 12.1 install, copy client from ad group in there, wait for install 12.1, when done delete clients from temp group, run refresh of ad group and will see if the client will come back online in the ad group.
