  • 1.  Clients Disappear After Moving to a Different Group

    Posted Jan 11, 2013 01:03 PM

The other day I moved a client to a different group using the web management console.  The client never showed up in the new group and no longer shows up in the group it was in either.  I even checked the database for all clients and it was not there.  The client had previously had a duplicate ID, but had just had the Repair Cloned Image tool ran on it and was showing up properly with a unique ID before I tried moving it.  It is as if the client has disappeared alltogether.

Unfortunately, I do not have admin access to the client as another administrator is reponsible for the machine.  Short of reinstalling the client or importing the sylink file, is there anything I can have the admin try?  We are running 12.1.2015.2015.

    Thanks!

What happens if you search for the client in SEPM?

Does the client show the green dot on the icon?

The client is not showing up in the SEPM at all, even if searching.  It is gone from the SEPM all together.  I had even run a query on the database to list all clients and it was not there either. Thanks!

    Hello,

Is there any replication set between 2 SEPM's??

Could you check if you have 2 Domains set under SEPM??

    SEPM >> Admin >> Domains

If yes, administer another domain and check if the client is reporting to this domain??

    Hope that helps!!

But the client is still installed on the PC right? Does it have the green dot showing?

We only have 1 domain and both SEPMs are configured identically, not as replication partners or different sites.  We actually rebuilt our entire SEP environment when we upgraded to SEP 12 from 11 primarily to get away from multiple domains as that was a source of many headaches previously.

The last I heard the client showed that it was still connected to one of the SEPMs.  I have asked the admin to check again when she has the chance just in case.

If SEP is still on the client and the green dot is present, it should show what SEPM it is connected to.
