I have a packet generated thats should install the clients to a specific group.

When i use the push method or the find unmanaged method pointing to the packet, it's working. The clients are installed to the right group.

But, when i execute the setup.exe locally on a client for a manual installation, the client goes to the default group...

in the sylink file, I have the right group  <RegisterClient PreferredGroup="My Company....

I want to use SMS to install my clients, i do not want all my 6000 clients to go to the default group.

Do you have an idea?

Most often it happens when the MSI file is run directly.

Do you have the SEP_INST.log file from the install that you ran locally?

Did you create a package from SEP Manager where it will automatically go to the group it belongs to?  

Yes, it seems to work some times and some times not...

I copy all the files locally and I execute the setup.exe

I noticed that the problem exists when i install the client within a non administrator account (with the run as).

With an administrator account, the group seems to be good...

Upon installation of the package, I think one of the pre-requisite is to really log on as "Administrator" basically, if we try to install any application Administrator account is the one needed.
