    Hi,

    Ghost Console is 11.5.2266, even though, I saw this statement "As of the writing of this (February 4th, 2011) the most current version is 11.5.1.2166", so I am assuming there is a little typo in Ghost or the Message.

    Anyway,
    I have a computer that has Windows XP Sp3 installed, etc, and is in the domain of windows server 2003, etc, the Ghost client is installed, and tells me it is *Managed by 'computer' @ 'ip'*

    But I look on the console, and there is no such computer appearing, I have checked the 'default' container, and I have checked all over containers that I have. but this MAC address doesn't seem to appear.

    How can I sort this issue out?

    Many thanks.

    Peter,

    Are the clients and the console on the same subnet? And, if not, is multicast traffic allowed? This article may help:

    Thank you,

    The current version available from LiveUpdate is 2266 as you surmised. Patches to 2269 and 2298 are available if your have any of the specific problems that these patches are intended to fix. The sticky link at the top of this forum has more information.

    By any chance, have you upgrade GSS console from previous version and observed this issue? Or it is fresh install of GSS 2.5.1 build 2266?

    @Randall

    Yes, all clients and console are on the same subnet, I have been using Ghost for last 5 years, and just recently I am having this little issue.

    @EdT

    Ok, but I probably won't need those patches, unless this issue has been fixed in the patch, but this issue just came around yesterday.

    @ghosti

    I have been using the same console since it was released last year or 2009, and no patches have been installed since the last patch came out, which was many months ago.

    #####

    Also to mention, this machine was on the console previously, with a different MAC address, as I have taken that pci network card out, deleted the client from the console, then registered the onboard mac address to the network. So therefore the new MAC address should show up on the console automatically.

    Even though the ghost client on the computer DOES say 'Managed by 'Server' @ IP', but yet doesn't seem to show on console.

    I added another machine to the console, remotely, and that appears on the console successfully.

    Is there some confused files on the server thats causing this issue? because I changed it's MAC address , even tho I deleted the old MAC client from the console already anyway?

    Ok, Sorted problem!

    I thought the Console only cares about the MAC's addresses, but obviously not.
    But I found the machine's 'OLD' Mac somewhere else in another container, which was "connected" but how?
    but had a different 'computer name' than it has on the computer itself. i.e console says ABC, the machine has 'CBA' and console has 'OLD' mac address, machine had 'different' mac address.

    I thought if the machine has a different mac address it will add the unknown mac address to the console automatically.

    but I deleted the client from console, and now the NEW mac address is now showing in the 'default' container.

    Hmmmmm that confused me.
