This issue has been solved. See solution.

Dear Team,

We have installed Symantec antivirus client on one server but it is not getting updated and showing offline. We have tried to reinstall the same but no luck.

We are able to ping and telnet to port no 8014 from that server to SEPM server still it is showing offline.

Communication between SEPM and client is also check with this link and status is “OK”.

We have tried all the possible solutions to resolve the issue.

Understanding

Hi DCOMP,

Symantec AntiVirus 10.x (SAV 10) and Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) are two different products.  A SAV client on a serevr cannot update from a SEPM.

Hope this helps!

With thanks and best regards,

Mick

Hi,Try to replace new

Hi,

If you are talking about SEP try to replace new Sylink.xml file on affected system.

Sylink locations

SEP 11.x --> C: OR installed drive \program files\Symantec\ Symantec Endpoint Protection

SEP 12.1 --> C: OR installed drive\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\12.1.1000.157.105\Data\Config

After replacing Sylink if communication did not restore, run Sylink monitor tool on affected system.

Attach those Sylink logs to this thread.

Thanks and Regards,
