Clients not visible in NS

MEL_CH's picture

Hi

Following situation:

- Network A with Clients of Domain A and one DeploymentServer and one separate Notification Server
- Network B with Clients of Domain B1 and B2 with one separate Package Server

Clients of Domain A and B1 are normaly visible in Notification Server without any Problems. Clients of Domain B2 cannot been seen in Notification Server. The Clients of B1 and B2 are in same physical Network but in different IP-Ranges (but same subnetmask of a B-Class). Between Network A and B there is a Firewall. On this Firewall I can see http-traffic from the Clients of B2 to the Notification Server in Network A.

The Clients are not seen in Collection "All Computers" and cannot be found at all.

What could be the problem here?

Thanks for your help.

Lukas,
Hmm, I would check the logs on the network B2 clients (Agent.log), and on the NS to see if the traffic is being blocked or rejected somehow.  Any events from the network B2 clients would go to the \\NSServer\NSCap\EvtQ* folders to be parsed, and if they are "bad" somehow they would go to the EvtQ*\Bad folder.  The domain shouldn't make any difference at all unless you have some kind of IIS authentication problem and DomainA doesn't trust DomainB2...but in the default HTTP-only, anonymous configuration even that shouldn't matter.  All the client really needs is IP access to the NS and know what server to talk to and it should just work.
