  • 1.  Clients on Replication Partner Showing as "Online On Remote Site"

    SEP 12.1.4

Two SEPM servers set up as replication partners. All clients on one SEPM are showing as "Online On Remote Site" and have the red arrow icon.

The sites are replicating fine. Clients show as normal on the other SEPM.

I haven't seen this before. Is this normal?

Yea that's normal. It means the clients are online but pointing to the other SEPM. You can force clients to go to either SEPM by modifying your management server list and applying to groups of clients.

I just thought it was odd that I hadn't seen it before today.

I'm at a loss, after days of trying to replace my existing Symantec server with a new one with little to no valid documentation and many threads full of the same confusions I've got to the point where every client is showing up on my new server but as being 'online on remote site', Now My applied policy states that the new server is priority 1 and the old is priority 2 yet the old server is still managing them. What is the process of migration? do they show up as 'online on remote site' for a period of time?

    So to clarify

    Added New Server B

Setup Replication With Old Server A

    Added Priority List

Set New Server B as Priority 1

Set Old Server A as Priorty 2

    Forced Replication

Old Server A still shows all clients 'Online'

New Server B shows all clients 'Online on Remote Site'

When can I expect the New Server B to show all client 'Online' and Old Server A to show all clients 'Online on Remote Site'?
