Endpoint Protection

We've just installed Endpoint 12 on a new server, with a blank database. Previously the clients were with version 11.06 and communicated to another server. We've deployed Endpoint 12 to all the clients and everything seems to work fine. In the Management console on the server, all the clients are marked as "offline". On the clients themselves, the Liveupdates are working, the icon has the green dot and if I go in "Help / Troubleshooting", it says that it is connected to the new server.

It is only in the Management Console that they are marked as offline and no client information is available, as if they had never connected to the server. There are no firewalls running on the server or clients and I can even Telnet into the server through port 8014 from a client.

What happens if you replace sylink,xml on one client machine ?

Where is the sylink.xml exactly on the clients?

to replace sylink login to sepmanager

select the group right click export communication settings put this file on a shared drive or usb as it needs to be replaced

go to client computer

open sep client change setting client management and disable tamper protection

then go to start run type smc -stop

go to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\12.1.671.4971.105\Data\Config

and replace file exported above in here simply paste it

go to start run and type smc -start

check if the client comes on line

note there is space between smc and stop /start

smc -stop and smc start would be on client system

Also would like to know are these cloned images or is this sep manager sync with AD ?

Excellent! Replacing the file with sylinkreplacer seems to have done the job on most of the computers. Thanks a bunch!
