This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hi All.

I have 200 machines which is currently running 11.0.6005 series.I have created a group update package on the sepm console . I have noticed that the package is getting copied to the client machine,But it is not getting extacted or it is not getting migrated.

Am able to migrate the clients if am deploying through Migration and Deployment Wizard or Manual installation.

All the machines are WinXp service pack 3.

My Current SEPM version is 11.0.6200 which is Ru6 MP2

Please help me to Resolve the issue.

Thanks And Regards

Vibin Vincent

If the installation does not

If the installation does not start, the log will not be there. If the files are copied to the target machines, it means that the deployment is ok and we can start troubleshooting the problem like a regular installation problem.

Could you run setup.exe from the folder where files are copied?

Client Upgratation

Hi all,

As mentioned earlier.i have 200 problamatic clients,Am able to run the set up file from the deployed location.

how Sep-inst log will be available if the installation doesnot start ?

yes i doubt there is somthing with the permission level with the OS,but the location where it deployed (Default location) has full Rights.

Is there anything we can try from sep support report ?

the same is working with other 800 machines,am facing only with this sepcific version as mentioned earlier..

Kindly let me know friends if you need any further details on the above mentioned Issue.

Thanks alot for all who is contributing different ideas to this particular case

If you can run setup manually

If you can run setup manually from the target folder means that remote deployment works well and all the files are copied. Now we should check why the installation does not start.

- do you have anything in the event viewer? Any errors?

- you can try to run Process Monitor on your targer machine and start deployment. When the deployment is finished and apparently the installation does not start, please stop logging and search Process monitor log for access denied messages.
