Hi,

Can any one help me about SEPM, GUP and Client communication. I have a requirment for network service team that they want to block any trafic comming from SEP clients to SEPM server. As i have one SEPM server at Head office and in regional office i have GUP live update server. So i can configured the local GUP's as per regional office. Now all the regional clients takes live update from GUP server. but I dont want that any client at regional office will able to send any kind of trafic to my head office SEPM server. but my SEPM server will able to communicate will all the clients SEP.

Is there any impact if all the regional clients will not able to communicate will SEPM server at head office. can all the reginal clients take policy updates from GUP servers at locally available.

client will always talk to SEPm, the contents can be from SEPM or GUP. Even if they get the content updates from GUP, client should  be talking to SEPM.

Hi Pete,

any way clients are taking defination updates via GUP server. but can clients will able to take policy updates via local GUP server. My network team will stop any trafic rx or tx from client SEPs with SEPM server. Only clients can able to communicate with local GUP server. A ACL will be created on MPLS router interface which will restict the clinets to communicate with SEPM server IP address.

If this ACL is activated what will happen is there any risk.

no, clients will always take policy from SEPM. GUP can only provide content to clients. Never set a rule for bloking traffic between client and SEPM.
