  • 1.  Cloning GPT drive with Linux/EFI/Win partitions

I'm trying trying to image a drive that has a GUID Partition Table (GPT) and contains Ext3, NTFS, Fat32, and EFI partitions formatted as Fat32. The drive is a 150GB SSD. These are the questions I need answered.

    1. Is this possible with ghost?

    2. If not, is this possible with any other imaging software?

    3. If not, is it possible to clone a GPT drive with just Windows partitions. How about just Linux/EFI partitions?

    4. Is there any good way to go about accomplishing this?

We need to know what exact version of Ghost you own.

However, the current version of Ghost Solution Suite (11.5.1.2266) does not support UEFI bioses.

Can you also clarify whether you wish to image the entire drive in one hit, or to image each partition separately?

Finally, check out Paragon Partition Manager 14 as this product is right up to date.

This is using GSS 11.5.1.2266. I don't think this is using UEFI bios, the drive in question contains an EFI partition for booting to EDK. I would prefer to image the whole drive in one hit but if that's not possible, imaging it by partition would be a possibility.

There is an update which supports UEFI/EFI systems which uses GPT partition style.Contact support if you have maintenance contract. The version 11.5.1.2266 does not support UEFI/EFI systems.

I have no links with support, but can confirm that there is a later release of Ghost available only to maintenance contract holders which addresses UEFI/EFI issues. Suggest you contact support directly (contact details in sticky posting at top of forum) and confirm with them to be absolutely sure.
